Abbotsford Arts Council Re-Opens Nomination Period For The 9th Annual Arty Awards

Submitted. The Abbotsford Arts Council announces it will be accepting nominations for the 9th Annual Arty Awards until March 1, 2013. Nomination forms, along with information on the nomination process, can be found on the Abbotsford Arts Council’s website.

The Arty Awards Event Planning Committee is also seeking additional members. Those interested in getting involved should contact abbotsfordartscouncil@gmail.com as soon as possible. The next committee meeting will be held at 10AM on January 18, 2013 at the Kariton Art Gallery, located at 2387 Ware Street in Abbotsford.

The 9th Annual Arty Awards will take place on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium in Abbotsford. These prestigious awards honour artists for their achievements in art excellence and their significant contributions to all forms of art in the community. In addition to the awards presentations that evening, there will also be a catered reception, entertainment and silent auction.

Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Theatre
Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Music
Outstanding Artist in the Performing Arts – Dance
Outstanding Artist in the Visual Arts – 2-Dimensional (Paintings, Photography, etc.)
Outstanding Artist in the Visual Arts – 3-Dimensional (Sculpting, Pottery, Jewelry, etc.)
Outstanding Artist in the Visual Arts – Filmography / Videography
Outstanding Artist in the Literary Arts
Outstanding Youth Artist – Elementary School, All Genres
Outstanding Youth Artist – Secondary School, All Genres
Outstanding Youth Artist – Post-Secondary School, All Genres
Outstanding Arts Advocate

A Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented to an individual chosen by the Abbotsford Arts Council Board of Directors.
