Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service Attends Restaurant Fire

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) responded to a structure fire yesterday afternoon at 2:59pm at 33357 South Fraser Way.
On arrival at the scene, AFRS fire crews observed heavy smoke and some flame exiting the building. Crews vented and attacked the fire from the exterior until conditions allowed for entry and final extinguishment.

Cause of the fire is unknown, but the owners reported that while working they noticed heavy smoke coming from the back of the restaurant, removed themselves and all the customers and called 911. Damage to the restaurant is extensive.

AFRS responded with 10 units and approximately 30 staff. Abbotsford Police, BCAS, Fortis and BC Hydro also attended the scene.
