Dear Mayor Banman. Abbotsford has sunk to a new low! Dumping manure on the homeless camp is reprehensible.
It has ceased to be a City of Character and has become a City of Disrepute.
I am calling for George Murray’s immediate resignation for the disreputable actions of the city workers

The City of Abbotsford’s blatant attack on homeless citizens in the Salvation Army Centre’s “backyard” is the equivalency of Syria’s Al Assad using sarin gas on militants. Chicken manure poses significant human health risks. Pathogens such as bacteria and viruses are omnipresent hazards for poultry workers, let alone dumping in a park frequented by a vulnerable socio-economic strata of society. Make that mayor go clean it up before you kick him out of office.
Both of them should go. And ordering city employees to do such a despicable act. If they refused ! Jobs lost ?

There was a behind closed door meeting involving, ADBA, ex-president
Bob Bos, Abbotsford Chamber director, Bruce Beck and Councillor
John Smith, where they met with local church members to inform
them, they were not permitted to feed the homeless at Jubilee Park.
As I recall, Councillor Smith told the pastor to feed them at the church
at the corner of Ware and Marshall.
Councillor Smith, Bruce Beck are closely assoc. with the development
community and I would say that this latest scheme to rid Gladys of
the homeless has something to do with the businesses in the
Abbotsford Downtown Business area, who have worked with
certain city staff to come to this blatant act to rid the area of the
homeless camped on Gladys, by using chicken manure on the
site of the homeless camp.
The development community decided to purchase land in the area,
cheap, knowing full well the Salvation Army was located there.
The city not only allowed the OCP to include commercial property beside a facility zoned institutional, but, if this was to be designated
for business, the city shoud have had the Salvation Army locate, elsewhere.
The homeless people are located near the services provided for
them in our community.
It comes down to bad planning!

truth behind this action! Who was really involved! If it involves,
a councillor, they should be terminated!
