Abbotsford Hospital – Low Costs, High Deaths, High Re-Admission Rates

The latest available data, based on 37 indicators, from The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) on Abbotsford’s Regional Hospital and Cancer Center shows higher rates of readmitted medical and obstetrics patients, as high rates for all patients overall, when compared with Canada as a whole, British Columbia or the Fraser Health Region.

Hospital deaths and hospital deaths after major surgery were slightly higher at Abbotsford’s Regional Hospital and Cancer Center.

Costs per standard hospital stay were lower than average at $5,148 per day.

In overall results, based on the same measures, the hospital scores either average or just above average in terms wait times, re-admissions, hospital deaths and low-risk caesareans.
