Abbotsford Students Excel At Regional Skills Competitions

Submitted. Abbotsford School District students had a successful day at Thursday’s (March 6) Upper Fraser Valley Regional Skills Competitions. Out of 24 medals awarded in eight competitions, Abbotsford students collected 14 of them. This included five gold; those five students will now advance to compete in the Provincial Skills Contest to be held at Tradex in Abbotsford on April 9th.

In all, 10 schools from the Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Mission and Fraser-Cascade school districts were represented at the event, held at UFV’s Trades and Technology Centre in Chilliwack. As well, over 1,200 middle school students from 17 schools attended a ‘Discover Trades’ day during the competitions.
