Abbotsforward Seeks Resident Input

Submitted. Abbotsford is changing, and residents have a unique opportunity to get involved and help shape the city!

Welcome to Abbotsforward, City of Abbotsford’s Official Community Plan (OCP) update project and the most significant city shaping process undertaken by the City of Abbotsford.

Over the next six weeks, residents will have the opportunity to share their ideas on how Abbotsford should grow and develop in the future.
Starting next week, residents will see a promotional campaign with ideas submitted by Raj, Mike and Julie.

The ideas in the campaign are made-up scenarios that the Abbotsforward team hopes will get people engaged in thinking about the future of Abbotsford.

The City of Abbotsford wants to hear every idea, big or small, because when it’s finished, the new OCP will use these ideas to guide how future development occurs in different areas of the City as the population continues to increase. All of this makes the Abbotsforward project relevant and important for everyone in the community.

Residents will have a variety of ways to get involved including an online survey to share their community vision; a travelling road show to talk one-on-one with City planners; citizen circles to chat with neighbours, family, or friends; and neighbourhood walks.

Full information about the Abbotsforward project, including the online survey, can be found at: www.abbotsforward.ca. Regular updates and activities will be broadcast through Twitter at www.twitter.com/abbotsforward and Facebook at www.facebook.com/CityOfAbbotsford.
