Submitted. West Coast Women’s Show Recap: Day 1

For many in Abbotsford and its surrounding area, the West Coast Women’s Show is something to look forward to every year, as evident by the crowds of people that showed up on opening day.

Amidst a rainfall warning for the Lower Mainland, people stood in line outside Abbotsford’s TRADEX with their umbrellas to get the first look at all the exhibitors at this year’s West Coast Women’s Show.

The show this year boasts over 400 exhibitors all under one roof, all sorted into different sections like Health & Wellness, World of Taste, Active Women’s Zone and Artisans Marketplace. From fashion to cosmetics, vitamins to home décor, the West Coast Women’s Show offers a wide variety of new and exciting products for showgoers, including trendy designs delivered out of unique fashion trucks.

The opening day was also Seniors Discount Day, with many visitors taking advantage of the discount to catch an early glimpse of an exciting weekend ahead. Organizers were busy setting the stage for special, exclusive presentations designed to both entertain and educate.

While the Scottish decorating duo, Colin and Justin, and Melissa Claire Egan from The Young and the Restless are scheduled to hit the stage on Saturday and Sunday, visitors still got the chance to see fashion shows featuring local designers and a crowd favorite, the 2018 Hall of Flame Calendar Firefighters Fashion Show.

The opening day was only the tip of the iceberg for what’s yet to come. Organizers have planned an extensive list of speakers and presenters to ensure that this year’s West Coast Women’s Show is sure to be a memorable one.

West Coast Women’s Show Recap: Day 2

The second day of the West Coast Women’s Show was all about Colin and Justin, HGTV home design gurus from Scotland.

The torrential downpour had visitors flocking to Abbotsford’s TRADEX, where they were in for a treat – a special presentation from Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan, global interior designers known around the world, with shows airing from the United States all the way to Australia.

Visitors had the chance to sit back and relax with a glass of wine, while the audience quickly filled up with people eager to learn how to make their homes cozier this rainy Fall season.

Colin and Justin took to the stage with a packed audience, imparting their wisdom on how to truly make a house a home, and giving tips to fans lucky enough to meet them in person.

Merging styles is a trend for décor this year – mixing rustic modern with urban concrete pieces, while adding colours to your home with furnishings. For Colin and Justin, who have designed their own bedding collection, being able to beautify your home without breaking the bank is a major theme.

But Colin and Justin weren’t the only big names to take to the Main Stage on Saturday. Chef Trevor Bird from Vancouver’s Fable Kitchen and Fable Diner showed audiences new recipes for Fall and kid chef, Skylar Sinow also shared his pomelo and brussel sprouts recipe.

The West Coast Women’s Show’s last day is tomorrow – with over unique 400 shopping booths under one roof, there are many options for visitors, from sample gluten-free pasta in the World of Taste section, to trying on wedding dresses in the Fashion & Style section.

West Coast Women’s Show Recap: Day 3
