Art in the ARC

By February 26, 2015Arts/Culture

Some of us are beginning artists; some of us have been honing our skills for quite awhile.

All of us realize the difficulties of “doing art” at home. There are just too many distractions; things that we imagine need to be done first.

We treasure the idea of a casual, supportive atmosphere were we can come, once a week, to paint, draw, pick up ideas from fellow artists, and – forgetting the outer world for awhile – practice our art.

And if the sink at home is full of dirty dishes – well, who is to know?

We’re a group of Art enthusiasts who meet at the Senior Activity Centre at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre to draw, paint, exchange ideas, chat and have coffee.

If you’re interested…just collect your materials and come join us.

If you’ve never tried your hand at art, come in anyway and we’ll help you get started.

There is no registration fee for this program itself.

But you will need a senior membership in the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.

We generally put a loonie in the kitty for coffee and incidentals…and to occassionally bring in a guest artist for a demo or instruction.

Please join us Mondays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Senior Activity Centre at ARC (2499 McMillan Rd – at Old Yale Rd). For further information, call Roy at 604.854.3668 or Betty at 604.853.7029.
