High School Sports are an integral part of education and growth and Abbotsford’s schools offer excellent opportunities through the athletics programs they provide.
Abbotsford Traditional Secondary has an extensive athletics program and many competitive teams.
From ATSS. Traditional Schools are a choice program operating within the public school system.Students attend from throughout the school district and from outside of the district. The prescribed curriculum and regulations of the British Columbia Ministry of Education are followed, with an emphasis on a consistent, structured approach to education.
Clearly defined standards for achievement, values, and conduct charaterize the approach of traditional schooling. Traditional schools are defined by ten tenets that express the emphasis of the traditional educational system.
To encourage active students and to meet the BC Education requirements of daily physical activity, students at ATSS must take PE in grades 9,10, and 11. Other PE courses offered are Personal Fitness and Superfit.
Abbotsford Traditional Secondary School has many teams including:
Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Wrestling, Badminton and Track and Field.
Fair Conduct (Sportsmanship)
Fair conduct is taught and emphasized. Observing the rules of fair play, respect for others, and graciousness in losing is important.
