Bateman Takes 5th In Boys Rugby

The Robert Bateman Timberwolves finished well in 5th place in the BC high school boys rugby championships this weekend with the Yale Secondary Lions grabbing seventh spot.

Final Matchups Set for Saturday from 1 to 16 in AA and AAA: AAA St. George’s v Shawnigan Final – AA Collingwood v Rockridge

No surprises in the 1st/2nd place final as the top two ranked teams in both AAA and AA meet up. According to BCSSRU rankings Shawnigan is ranked 1st in AAA with St. George’s 2nd and in AA Rockridge is ranked 1st followed by Collingwood.

The teams that didn’t fare that well according to initial rankings include Brentwood, they went into the tournament ranked 3rd in AA but are playing for 7th/8th.

Teams that exceeded expectations include McRoberts from Richmond who were ranked 6th in AA but are playing for 3rd/4th spot.
