BC Liquor Stores To Release 2013 Bordeaux October 15th

By October 9, 2016Food & Wine

Submitted. One of the year’s biggest events for wine lovers is happening Oct. 15 when BC Liquor Stores hold its annual release of highly-prized Bordeaux wines.

Consumers bought almost $2.5-million worth of Bordeaux wines in just two days at last year’s release to stake their claim on the rarest wines from one of the world’s most famous wine-producing regions.
They will again likely line up at sunrise at BC Liquor Stores to get first crack at these exclusive wines.

This year’s release will unveil more than 1,700 cases of the 2013 vintage to the public. And while people usually associate Bordeaux with red wine, this year the white Bordeaux takes centre stage.

The annual release will be available at 13 Signature BC Liquor Stores around the province, including the flagship store in Vancouver at 39th and Cambie. Many of the wines have bottle limits, so customers are advised to shop early to avoid disappointment.

A bonus for those who are eager to try out their purchases is that many 2013s will be ready to drink sooner than most years.

Bordeaux release day is one of the most exciting times in the work calendar and is the kickoff to our busiest season. 2013 is an interesting vintage and, in many ways, plays to those wine drinkers who have been craving Bordeaux with a more classic profile. Cooler, wetter weather has produced red wines that are medium-bodied with red fruit, rather than black, and a minerally finesse on the palate.” – Barbara Philip, category manager, BC Liquor Stores
