Cascades Golfers In First After PACWEST Tournament Two

By David Kent. The University of Fraser Valley Cascades men’s and women’s golf teams are in first place after Tournament Two of the 2013-14 PACWEST golf season.

The tournament played at Okanagan Golf Club, in Kelowna, BC, the men’s team won tournament two with a score of 564, 13 strokes better than second place Camosun College Chargers at 577.

The men were led by Darren Whitehouse, Langley, BC who shot an amazing two-day total of 132 to win the second tournament outright.

Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC finished second with a two-day total of 139. Other Cascades in the top ten were Simon Baker, Langley, BC with 142 and Scott Benstead, Chilliwack, BC with a 145.

Jen Woods, Kelowna, BC returned home and dazzled the field by shooting a two-day score of 152 to defeat her own teammate Dani Shap, Mission, BC who finished second with a 157.

The Cascades Kelley Dalzell, Mission, BC finished 6th with a two-day score of 177 giving UFV a commanding 32 stroke lead over the VIU Mariners after two PACWEST tournaments.

The Cascades travel to Victoria, BC the weekend of September 28-29 as Camosun College Chargers host PACWEST tournament three.
