UPDATED: Child Struck, Airlifted To Hospital

Update from APD: The young girl who was struck in the crosswalk yesterday is not as seriously injured as first feared. Her injuries have been characterized as non-life threatening. The investigation is continuing.

Previously Submitted. A 10-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries after being struck while crossing the road.

At 2:40 p.m. today emergency crews were called to the 32300 block of South Fraser Way in response to a young girl who had been hit by a vehicle. The girl has since been airlifted to hospital with undetermined injuries. Collision analysts are currently on scene and westbound traffic on South Fraser Way between Trethewey Street and Langdon Street will be diverted until further notice.
