CIVL Radio Selects Eighteen Competitors For Battle Of The Valley

101.7 CIVL Radio’s staff and volunteers were overwhelmed by the amount of applications submitted for their first Fraser Valley Battle of the Bands, which will be kicking off next week, Saturday May 11th at Aftermath, UFV. 47 bands submitted applications from Chilliwack all the way to Delta. A panel from CIVL has pared it down to 18 bands representing a mix of genres including rock, blues, pop, funk, metal, punk and world.

A full schedule will be released at www.civl.ca . Artists will benefit from promoting their band and will compete for prizes from Tractorgrease Multimedia, Five Acres, Jayme Anne Photography and Long & McQuade. Music fans of all ages are invited to come out and support your favorite bands, and hear some of the Fraser Valley talent every Saturday from May 11th to July 13th.

2013 Battle of the Bands details

$5 per night

First prize: 3 live videos for the winning band, a $2000 value from Tractorgrease Multimedia, 2 hour photoshoot, with two locations. 10 – 15 high resolution edited, from Jayme Anne Photography. Mastering of 6 songs from Five Acres Studio.
$800 gift certificate to Long & McQuade

Second Prize: $300 to Long & Mcquade plus 100 pins

Third Prize: $200 to Long & Mcquade plus 100 pins
