Today, the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Mark Strahl, Member of Parliament for Chilliwack – Fraser Canyon congratulated IMW on a long term agreement with China Gas Holdings (CGH). This transaction was facilitated through the signing of a $250 million financing agreement between Export Development Canada (EDC) and CGH.

“Our government is focused on what matters to Canadians—jobs, growth and long-term prosperity,” said Minister Fast. “Supporting Canadian companies in fast-growing markets throughout the dynamic Asia Pacific region is a key part of our government’s pro-trade plan, the most ambitious of its kind in Canadian history.”

“This milestone agreement supports China’s significant drive towards a clean energy alternative while bringing strong economic and employment benefits to Chilliwack and British Columbia”, said Brian Nguyen, Senior Vice President, Global Operations at IMW.

“We are proud that local companies like IMW are finding success in global markets because we know that this helps create good jobs and benefits here at home,” said MP Strahl.  “This is yet another clear example of how our government’s ambitious pro-trade plan is delivering results for hard-working Canadians, like those in Chilliwack, and generating benefits for local workers and their families.”

The financing agreement will help CGH’s planned purchase from its long-standing Canadian supplier, Chilliwack-based IMW. IMW is a leading supplier of compressed natural gas equipment for vehicle fuelling and industrial applications such as bus/taxi fleets and gas-fired power generation plants.
