Leadership: 30+ years’ experience with BC TEL / TELUS (operations, marketing and customer service); HSBC Bank Canada (AVP Marketing, Brand Management, Sponsorship & Regional Marketing); Abbotsford International Airport (business development); & District of Maple Ridge (Manager Strategic Economic Initiatives) since 2008 where, as founding partner of Invest North I lead a number of BC Jobs Plan projects to attract investment and create high value local jobs in key sectors.
Governance & Community Builder: 10 years Canadian Women in Communications including a term as vice president; six years Abbotsford Police Commissioner (finance, audit and governance committees which included hiring and evaluation of the chief constable & negotiating two rounds of collective bargaining) and twelve years with the Burnaby RCMP Victim Services & Community Policing Committee of Council.
Education: BCIT (management certificate: administrative systems); International Association of Business Communicators IABC (ABC: Accredited Business Communicator); University of Waterloo / Economic Development Association of Canada EDAC (Ec. D: certificate and diploma in economic development).
A member of Envision Financial since 2011, I was appointed to the Envision Regional Council in 2013. I am a director with the Abbotsford Police Foundation; member of the Fraser Valley Committee of the Urban Developers Institute (UDI); and mentor with Minerva Foundation for BC Women.
