Submitted. Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union helps fight hunger in the local Abbotsford community at Spring into Action!, an anticipated event to support Envision Financial’s signature cause, The Full Cupboard—a program designed to raise food and funds for local food banks in the communities where Envision Financial operates.

On Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. members of the public are invited to bring their non-perishable food or cash donations to any Envision Financial Abbotsford branch. Attendees can enjoy snacks and refreshments and be entered to win a special prize package from Envision Financial.

“The fight against hunger is a top priority for Envision Financial,” explains Susan Bryom, senior manager of community investment. “Last year over 100,000 British Columbian’s accessed their local food bank—a staggering one third of those were children. Our goal is to raise $1 million and 100,000 pounds of food by 2023; it’s only through the support of local residents and our community that we’ll turn this goal into a reality.”

Since inception in 2013, The Full Cupboard has raised $451,053 and has collected over 66,000 pounds of food for Fraser Valley food banks—achieving over half of its ten-year goal. This upcoming event will directly contribute to these efforts by collecting food and funds for the local community; all food and funds collected in Abbotsford will benefit Abbotsford residents in need.
