Gallery 7 Theatre and Cliff House Event Entertainment are thrilled to join forces to present Fest of Fools, a comedy/musical extravaganza featuring host and comedian, Cliff Prang, the Langley Ukulele Ensemble and several other entertaining surprises. A celebration of Gallery 7 Theatre, Fest of Fools will also feature complimentary home-style desserts, a silent auction, and an opportunity to help build a vibrant theatre in our community.
“Pursuing one’s dreams in any arena involves risk of failure, so fearlessness and foolishness are required,” says Prang. “In the same way, Gallery 7 provides opportunities for normal people, like you and me, to do what we love or have always dreamed of doing. We want to celebrate that.”
For more than 20 years, Gallery 7 Theatre has been producing professional quality theatre that touches the heart, stimulates the mind and elevates the soul – something that the staff and board want to continue to build on.
“Live theatre is a wonderfully unique art form,” says Gallery 7 Theatre’s Artistic Director, Ken Hildebrandt. “It draws the community together in a shared experience that is different each performance, and lives and breathes by the strength of interaction between performer and audience member. At Gallery 7, we work very hard to create experiences that entertain to be sure, but also encourage and challenge. Through that, we believe we’re contributing greatly to the emotional, intellectual and spiritual health of our community. Not only that, we’re also providing a life-affirming environment where recreational and professional artist may collaborate together to create compelling and impactful theatre.”
Many exciting changes are the horizon for Gallery 7 Theatre, including a move to a new venue following the 2013/2014 theatre season. The theatre staff and board of directors are holding Fest of Fools to give the public an opportunity to invest in their community’s only full-time theatre company.
To that end, Fest of Fools will include the return of the popular Silent Auction, featuring quality products from Fraser Valley businesses, and an opportunity for people to make donations if they wish.
“Just by attending what promises to be a hilarious night out for the family helps the theatre,” says Denise Ramsay, Gallery 7 Theatre’s Board Chair. “We certainly welcome people to make a donation if they wish or to purchase something at our Silent Auction in support of our current work and to help us establish a strong financial footing for our move in a year from now. We know that theatre is much more than just a building – we want Gallery 7 to be the hub of theatre experience in Abbotsford and to continue making a positive contribution to this community.”
Fest of Fools takes place on Saturday, May 4th at the MEI Theatre, 4081 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford. The lobby and Silent Auction open at 6:30 PM and the performance gets underway at 7:30 PM. Tickets are only $20/person and can be purchased in person at House of James, 2743 Emerson Street Abbotsford, by calling 604-852-3701 or online at www.gallery7theatre.com.
