Submitted. At 12:47 on November 29, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service responded to a report of a structure fire at a farm located on Whatcom
Road.

Upon arrival, fire crews found a barn fully engulfed in flames. While fighting the fire, fire crews had to contend with subzero temperatures, poor access to the property and 30 km/ph winds which were fanning the flames.

A large portion of the structure had already collapsed by the time crews had set up on the property. The barn was partitioned into rental storage units which created concerns due to unknown contents in the barn.
Crews were on scene well into the evening ensuring the entire fire had been extinguished. A Fire investigator was called to the property and is working towards the cause of the blaze. Total damage to the property is undetermined at this point.

14 AFRS fire trucks and approximately 60 firefighters along with Abbotsford Police Department, BCAS, BC Hydro and Fortis Gas were on scene.
