IHIT Called to Investigate Alleged Shots Fired at Police

On November 27, 2014, at approximately 8:41 pm, members of the Mission RCMP were dispatched to the 32000 block of Best Avenue in Mission, BC after shots were reportedly fired in the area.

Upon their arrival at the scene, shots were allegedly fired at RCMP members who quickly took cover. We can confirm one shot struck a police vehicle (photo attached). As members of the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team and additional resources from the Mission RCMP Detachment were deployed to the area, the suspect surrendered to police and was apprehended without incident.

No police officers or members of the public were injured in the incident.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called to investigate with support from the Mission RCMP.

Police will not be providing any further information at this time.
