Did you know that Literary Arts Arty Award Nominee Jim Williams has taught English to over 2,000 Abbotsford students? Jim also taught in China where he wrote short stories that eventually came together to become his first novel, “C.H.I.P.S. in China.”

Kariton Art Gallery BoutiqueEstablished in 1972, the Abbotsford Arts Council acts as a voice and resource for local artists while promoting the vision, creativity, and energy of the community through the Arts.

We are proud to provide the Kariton Art Gallery and Boutique as a resource for local artists to showcase their art.

In addition to the Kariton Gallery, the Abbotsford Arts Council produces a number of successful events to showcase local artists such as the Envision Coffee House Concert Series & Concert in the Park Series, Arty Awards, Arts & Heritage Unity Festival, and the Abbotsford Christmas Craft Fair. We also offer a wonderful education speaker series called “Art of Marketing”.

Artists, and those interested in the arts in Abbotsford, should check out our Resource Centre in the Kariton Gallery, home to member group information, auditions, job postings and volunteer opportunities. Those interested in receiving regular updates on arts and culture events in Abbotsford should sign up for our email announcements.
