10/17/18:21 – Abbotsford’s Chief Election Officer, Bill Flitton, announced today that Joe Singh Chahal has withdrawn from the race for a seat on Abbotsford council in the November 15 municipal election.
“I can now inform you that Joe (Joginder) Singh Chahal has formally withdrawn his name as a candidate for the office of Councillor, for the City of Abbotsford, for the 2014 General Local Election,” he said in a release Friday.
Flitton also announced, “The deadline for the withdrawal of candidates from any office, for the 2014 General Local Election, has now expired, as at 4:00 pm today, Friday, October 17, 2014 (29 days before General Voting Day).
