A group of business people, taxpayers and residents lead by Fred Thiessen and opposed to Abbotsford Council’s plans to give $17.5 Million to the YMCA will appear before the Executive Committee of Council this afternoon.
Despite the fact that neither of the chain newspapers has covered the event, interviewed the organizers or admitted its existence the citizens group is expecting as many as 100 people at the meeting.
Walter Neufeld is known for his advocacy work as president of the FVRD Citizens Association and his work against the gravel industry lobby. Neufeld’s newest passion is a group called ‘Men on Roofs’.
The full name of the group is ‘Men on Roofs ask Canadian politicians to stop filching our democracy’ and they are sponsoring a series of politically charged images aimed at Canadian politicians.
