March is Popcorn Month

By Angie Quaale.  We hope you enjoyed the first week of popcorn month! If you haven’t stopped in to sample some of our new Wabash farm kernels and shakers, you are missing out! We have stocked our fridge full of compound butter, and have been working to share some unique recipes with you all month long. Be sure to follow along on our social media channels we are featuring different recipes and chances to win some gourmet prizes!

Feature Recipe – Lemon Brown Butter Popcorn

Lemon Brown Butter Popcorn

Ingredients:
1.5 cups un-popped popcorn = about 16 cups of air popped popcorn
6 Tbsp unsalted butter
Zest of 1 Large Lemon – about 1.5 teaspoons

Preparation:
Grate lemon zest and set aside.
Melt 6 tbsp. butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Continue cooking until golden browned, about 7 minutes.
Remove from the heat and stir in 1 ½  teaspoons freshly grated lemon zest; drizzle over popped popcorn. Season with salt and enjoy!

Feature Product  – Fox Run Stovetop Popcorn Maker

We are firm believers in the traditional method of popping out popcorn. The “old school” method, using a hand crank over the stove top is number one in our books. We swear by the Fox Run Stovetop popcorn popper. They are durable, easy to clean and leave no kernel behind. We all know, there is nothing worse than finishing your bowl to find the bottom lined with un-popped kernels. Avoid future disappointment and stop by the store to pick up yours!

Reminder – Popcorn Recipe Contest

The rules are simple, post a photo, along with the recipe for your favorite popcorn. All you have to do is tag us in the photo, and use the hashtag #wellseasonedispoppin. The only rules – the recipe must be your own, and you need to be a Canadian resident. We’ve got a poppin’ basket to ship to the winner!
