From Abbotsford Minor Baseball. Mariners get into the win column!
After a slow start to the season, the Mariners got their first win, beating the Pirates 10-9. The Pirates came out of the gate with 4 quick runs, but the Mariners found a way to climb back with 4 first inning runs of their own.
It was a close affair from then on, with the Mariners clinging to a one run lead heading into the 4th and final inning.
The Pirates showed some grit by tying the game in the top half, but Dyson Fitzgerald of the Mariners knocked in Marcus Bolstad to win the game. Brady Fehlauer lead the way offensively for the Mariners with two doubles, and he along with Hayden Pickering, Braley Kraemer and Connor Friesen all had solid showings on the mound.
