The Annual General Meeting of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at The Rancho, 35110 Delair Road, Abbotsford. The meeting will be called to order at 12:01pm.

That the terms for six Directors (2 year terms) and one Director (1 year term) are to expire on March 31, 2013 leaving those positions available to be filled. Guest Speaker – Mike Helmer
Deputy Fire Chief, Fire Prevention / Emergency Preparedness
Mike has over thirty five years in the fire service and has served in many capacities including five years as a fire fighter, ten years as Fire Suppression Captain, seven years as a Fire Prevention Officer, twenty five years as a Fire Investigator. Investigating over 600 fires and testifying as an expert witness four times in criminal cases finding the suspect guilty in all cases and once in a civil case. In 2002 Mike was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief of Fire Prevention and in 2010 to his current position of Deputy Fire Chief – Fire Prevention / Emergency Preparedness.
Mike has held many provincial fire service positions including: President of the British Columbia Fire Prevention Officer’s Association and currently holds the position as Chair of the Fire Chief’s Association of BC, Building Codes and Standards Committee.
Mike’s leadership style aligns with his personal mission of serving the public by providing “Excellence in Customer Service” through all facets of emergency operations, Fire Prevention and Emergency Preparedness.
