Minor Hockey Needs Volunteers

Abbotsford Minor Hockey is gearing up for another year. Getting ready means finding and assigning volunteers to the key positions which help make minor hockey work.

Message from Brigitte Virtanen
Arriving as a new family in Abbotsford and registering for Abbotsford Minor Hockey for second year Peewee was stressful for us as parents. Will we fit in? Will our sons make new friends? Will they be accepted by their hockey peers? The answer was yes, yes and yes; and what a huge sigh of relief that was.

In the following two years, our hockey teams would be successful in having fun, being there to support each other win or lose, and always fighting for the next game!

A particularly fun time was when we enjoyed a hockey tournament in Phoenix with fun in the sun and a no pressure tournament for the boys to be able to relax before playoffs started.

In second Year Bantam the boys were primed and ready to challenge for the Provincial Championship only to lose in the final but with their heads held high. Our team had the honour of hosting Povincials which was a huge undertaking to say the least. Every parent and player chipped in to do their part. With the help of AMHA and Deb Smith, Abbotsford Minor Hockey hosted a first class event that we were very proud of. One I certainly won’t forget!

I think the best part of being involved with Abbotsford Minor Hockey is the friendships that are forged by players, parents and volunteers. Relationships that will carry forward in our lives for many years to come! It is the people of AMHA that are the fondest memories without a doubt.
