Abbotsford’s You Say Party (YSP) has released a new song and is coming out of thier self imposed hiatus from the music business.

On the bands website they introduce the new song, “We are pleased to share our first new song since we reconvened last year, entitled “Friend”. This song is for Devon, who passed from this life nearly 3 years ago, but who remains close in our hearts.

“More new music to come in the spring.”

Listen to it here.

You Say Party has been through a lot. The band’s first live performance was in a church basement in Abbotsford. Last month they performed for the first time in a long while in Toronto. Now Hollywood is playing their song.

In 2009, with two albums under their belt the band released their third album (XXXX) and one of the songs on the album, Laura Palmer’s Prom, made waves across the country and around the world.

That song has now been picked and featured in Richard Gere’s new movie ‘Arbitrage.
