Soil Removal Permit No. 1817 (Sumas Mountain)
The City received an application, from Lafarge Canada, to
extract gravel on properties described as Legal Subdivision
13 Section 28 Township 19 (L.S. 13), Legal Subdivision 16
Section 28 Township 19 (L.S. 16) and Legal Subdivision 15,
Lot 2, Section 29 Township 19 (Lot 2).
The applicant proposes to remove approximately 7 million
cubic metres of material to the 170m elevation over a 30 to
40 year period.
Information regarding the application is available to view at
Abbotsford City Hall, 32315 South Fraser Way, Engineering
Department (fourth fl oor). There will be comment forms
available for your use.
In order for comments to be considered by Council
with the application, the form must be submitted to the
Engineering Department on the fourth floor of City Hall
by December 6, 2013. Responses can be faxed to
604-853-2219 or emailed to the address shown below.
The application will be presented to Council at the Regular
Council Meeting on Monday, December 9, 2013, at
7:00 pm, in the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium adjacent to
City Hall. The public is invited to attend the meeting and time
will be provided to comment or ask questions regarding the
proposal, prior to Council deliberation.
