Rain Reduces Options For Skiers

By January 23, 2015Sports, Sports News

So far a sad winter for skiers is being made worse by more rain in Lower Mainland. For city dwellers Seymour is closed and both Grouse and Cypress are closed due to rain and low snow. Hemlock has yet to open any lifts and Mount Baker and Whistler seem the only mountains high enough to have reliable snow right now.

The other option, which is closer for Valley skiers, is Manning Park which has some great Alpine and Nordic snow to offer.

Manning Park Resort’s ski area is located in the Gibson Pass Valley, approximately 15 kms south of the resort. Gibson Pass road is maintained by BC Highways but is second priority to Hwy #3, therefore, conditions are variable and snow tires and chains are strongly recommended.

The resort has a shuttle bus service running hourly between the lodge and ski hill.
