A special farewell tribute was also made to Suzanne Greening, Past Executive Director of The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford and strong arts advocate, who recently accepted a new position as director of the Audain Art Museum in Whistler.

In addition to the awards presentations, the ceremony included performances by jazz trio Now’s the Time; Bollywood Hungama Dance Academy; trumpet soloist Edward L. Lewis; opera singer Chelsea Rus; the winner of CIVL Radio’s 2014 Battle of the Bands Singer/Songwriter Competition (#CIVLssBattle), John Welsh; and acro dancers Kaitlyn Buhler and Danae Wright. Attendees also enjoyed an art show in the foyer of the MCA presented by residents and friends of the Atangard Community Project Society.

The Arty Awards program is an initiative of the Abbotsford Arts Council to honour individuals of all ages who have achieved excellence in their art as well as arts advocates who have contributed significantly to the Abbotsford arts scene.
