Report On Student Achievement

Submitted. In his annual report on the status of student achievement, Superintendent Kevin Godden reported that students in the district continue to achieve well.

He outlined some actions that staff will take to improve already strong
achievement levels.

Key actions include an enhanced
Early Learning Plan, a plan to better support English
language learners, and a revised Aboriginal Enhancement
Agreement. In terms of the district’s most vulnerable
students, Supt. Godden pointed out that boys, students
with behaviour challenges, and aboriginal students all
need extra support to succeed. The district continues to
perform above the provincial average on almost every
assessment, including reading, writing and numeracy. As
Supt. Godden noted, “Abbotsford continues to be a highperforming
district.” The full report will be online, and a
special publication available across the district, in January.
