A veteran of the Home Medical Equipment (HME) sector in Canada, Stan Murray is confident that his concept of leveraging the collective buying power of seasoned HME dealers (in an industry sector whose annual sales are estimated to be $500-$550 million), is going to be a successful growth opportunity over the next 3-5 years. To make the collective concept achievable, each member of the Ability Members Group is assessed a monthly fee based on their previous year’s annual sales.
“Out of the starting gate, we have attracted a core group of 12 quality Home Medical Equipment professionals with 17 store locations from British Columbia to New Brunswick,” explains Murray.
“They are committed to the vision that our network of dealers will continue to grow as more HME store owners realize the value of our collective buying power (with major HME suppliers) that affords discounted prices and financial stability to Members.”
Murray added, “Our core group is also adamant about keeping the national network as simple and transparent as possible. To ensure that happens, we have assembled an experienced Board of Directors, the majority of whom are HME dealers in our network.”
“We have also contracted seasoned HME professionals to manage our accounting and administration as well as our marketing and external communications including public relations and social media.”
