Submitted. The new owners of Manning Park Resort, Kevin and Donna Demers, are excited about the coming ski season and would like to invite you up to see what’s new at the hill. Some may remember Mike Barker, the new General Manager, who was the ski area manager at Manning Park for 22 years. Mike reports that “with the new ownership and the team now in place, the Resort is making great strides towards bringing the level of service and facilities back to where it was in the hay days of the 1990s as one the best family resorts in BC. We have made a major financial commitment to provide excellent and consistent grooming this winter at both the downhill and cross-country ski areas. To support this commitment the Resort has purchased two additional snowcats, bringing the total fleet to four, the most the Resort has ever had”.

There is also a great deal of work being done at the ski hill itself with the Downhill runs and cross-country trails being brushed to ensure we can open with a minimal amount of snow. A revamped daylodge menu has been planned to fuel visitors with tasty food after a full day of skiing or boarding.

If you’ve never skied at Manning Park you should know that downhill skiing at Manning Park is like nothing the coastal mountains have to offer. Cooler temperatures and more consistent weather reward those who visit with run after run of untracked and unforgettable snow. In addition there are over 30km of groomed Nordic trails and extensive off-piste Nordic and snowshoe trails to take the adventurous on outings ranging from half an hour to multi-day trips. Not only that, for those who like to travel and stay in their RVs, the downhill area has powered RV sites that provide fantastic ski-in/ ski-out camping!

Within easy, scenic driving distance from Vancouver and Fraser Valley, Manning Park remains the most accessible and diverse outdoor destination in southwest British Columbia. Kevin Demers added that “with our accommodation and facilities, we are an affordable alternative to many of the larger resorts”. With back country hikes or leisurely walks, ski touring or groomed runs, tarps, tents or queen size beds, Manning Park has something for everyone.
