Social Media Lights Up For Abbotsford’s Homeless

After the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association’s (ADBA) media campaign and petition against the ACS Supportive Housing Project begin last week social media is beginning to light up with discussions about the controversial issue.

A Facebook group has been formed in support of the Project and, as of Saturday night the group has 119 members. We’ve published below a few samples from the discussion on the page.

Another Facebook group dealing with homelessness issues in Abbotsford is the one hosted by The 5 and 2 Ministries. The page has been around for awhile and will give you an insight into the day to day lives of those whop deal with the issues surrounding homelessness and other issues encountered by those who are forced to live on Abbotsford’s streets.

ACS Open HouseA website has been launched to provide factual information about the ACS Supportive Housing Project proposed for the property at 2408 Montvue Avenue which is situated directly across from the main ACS offices. Updated information will be added to the site daily.

ACS will be holding an Open House from 6 to 8 pm on July 25 to share details of its proposal.

Abbotsford Today will be running daily updates from ACS on the project leading up to the July 25 Open House and attempting to introduce the community of Abbotsford to a few of its homeless people.
