Suspects Sought In Laser Assault

Fraser Valley Traffic Services are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in an assault on Highway #1,on February 27, 2013 at approximately 4:00pm.

The victim was westbound in the left lane of Highway #1 at No.3 Road and was passed in the right lane by a greyish-colored Audi with a BC licence plate. The Audi contained a female driver, with dark brown hair in her early 20’s and a male passenger also in his 20’s with a large build, fair hair, shaved on the sides. Both driver and passenger fingered the victim and the female driver flashed her high beams a number of times.

The Audi then pulled in front of the victim and the male passenger stood, with his head through the sun roof and proceeded to spit on the victim’s windshield. The male then sat back down and pointed a green laser through the Audi’s’s rear window at the victim’s eyes, causing her not to be able to see her surroundings. The victim may have sustained eye damage and lost sight of the Audi around Clearbrook Road in Abbotsford as it proceeded at a high-rate of speed westbound.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle and its occupants. Anyone with information regarding this unusual assault is asked to call Cst Lee Keane of the Fraser Valley Traffic Services at 604-869-1397 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS.
