Submitted. The vibrant ladies of The Loft Hair Studio & Beauty Bar are doing their part to practice environmental stewardship as they celebrate Earth Day this spring. From April 22-26, The Loft will be participating in Davines’ Sustainable Beauty Week and offering select services in exchange for a fifteen dollar donation to the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. The services available at The Loft during Sustainable Beauty Week are: express facials, mini manicures, and deep conditioning hair treatments and blow outs.
The Loft is proud to support the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) in partnership with eco-friendly hair care brand Davines to plant fruit trees for low-income communities using the proceeds from Sustainable Beauty Week. Along with participating salons all across Canada and the U.S., The Loft is excited to channel their passion for all that is beautiful towards new growth and beauty in the environment.
Earth Day is a meaningful holiday to The Loft because they pursue green initiatives all year round. As winners of the Environmental Leadership Award in 2013, The Loft is a Green Circle Salon and is known for eco-friendly practises such as recycling cut hair to be used for oil spill cleanup or separating their foils, colour tubes, paper, plastics, and excess chemicals for pickup by Green Circle drivers.
The Loft also demonstrates environmental responsibility through their beauty product selection. The Loft carries Éminence organic skin care products — a Vancouver based company pursuing extensive green initiatives such as local park rejuvenation projects, enlisting wind and solar power energy in the making of products, using recyclable packaging and vegetable-based inks in printing. Éminence even plants a tree for every product purchased.
To participate in Sustainable Beauty Week at The Loft, book your appointment in advance as space is limited. The Loft also welcomes visitors anytime to peruse their eco-friendly Éminence products and other beauty lines.
