Abbotsford author Wilf Hein tells the story of his father, a Mennonite pastor, who grew up in Russia, emigrated to Germany, and risked his life when he spoke and wrote against Nazi ideology. When called to serve in the army, he became a translator during World War II. Wilf illustrates the difficult decisions peace-loving Germans had to make during the 30’s and 40’s. His book’s title: A Witness in Times of War and Peace.

These 30 minute guided tours are a great way to learn about the cultural and social contexts of artworks and artifacts on display. Tours are led by knowledgeable docents who provide a general overview of exhibitions and an opportunity for lively discussion.
