The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and the Abbotsford School District will host the Regional Skills Competitions Thursday in: Animation, Architectural CAD, Automotive Service, Cabinet Marking, Carpentry, Culinary, Electrical Wiring, Electronics, Web Design, T.V. and Video Production, Mechanical CAD, and Welding.
Also, they will be hosting 15 “Discover Trades” activities for middle school students. This year over 1,200 grade 8 students have been invited from area school districts: Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Langley, Mission, and Fraser- Cascade. (students from Clayburn Middle, Eugene Reimer Middle, and ASIA Sumas Mtn Middle will be attending from Abbotsford.)
Gold Medalists from this regional contest will be invited to participate at the Provincial Skills Contest to be held at Tradex in Abbotsford on April 9. More information is available here.
