UFV Seeks Distinguished Alumni Nominations

“More than 30,000 alumni from the University of the Fraser Valley work in a variety of industries and sectors and have a significant impact on our economy and our communities every day,” says Nancy Armitage, UFV Alumni Engagement manager. “We want to highlight their contributions and excellence by recognizing our outstanding alumni.”

UFV will recognize two exceptional alumni through the Distinguished Alumni Awards. One award will be conferred upon a graduate who has achieved outstanding distinction in their career, in educational achievement, or by providing exceptional community service. The second award, the Young Distinguished Alumni Award, goes to a graduate of UFV who is 34 years of age or younger who has achieved outstanding distinction in the same categories.

Winners of these awards will join the ranks of past recipients including 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award winner Patti MacAhonic (BA ’03), Executive Director of Ann Davis Transition Society, and 2014 Young Distinguished Alumni Award winner Tanya Jonker (BA ’09), a doctoral student in psychology. Other past winners include Stu Chahal and Evan Wiens in 2013, George Hemeon (BA’04) and Alex McAulay (BBA ’07) in 2012, and Shirzad Ahmed (UT ’92) in 2011.

The deadline for nominations is May 1, 2015.
