Bertram, who is in his 10th year at the helm of the University of the Fraser Valley golf program, collected the award on Sunday at the conclusion of the final PacWest tournament of the season at Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna. He was previously recognized by the PacWest in 2010, 2012 and 2013.

Chris Bertram“I see this award as recognition for all of the great things happening in our golf program, and all of the people at UFV and in the community that help move it forward,” Bertram said. “I share this award with our entire coaching staff including Jennifer Greggain, Kathy Stecyk, Brad Clapp, Darren Whitehouse and Dean Lock, who have all given so much to help build this team.”

Bertram guided the Cascades men’s and women’s teams to PacWest championships this season, marking the second straight gold medal sweep for the UFV golf program and the third straight conference crown for the men.

Next week, the Cascades travel to Quebec City for the 2014 PING CCAA National Golf Championships (Oct. 14-17). UFV is the defending champion on both the men’s and the women’s sides, and Bertram is the reigning CCAA coach of the year.

Bertram’s memorable 2014 also included serving as co-coach of the Canadian women’s entry at the World University Golf Championships in Switzerland in June.
