UPDATE – Safari Kids Zone Petition Launched

05/21/14 20:45 – From Cassandra Barbour. I love that this already has more than 100 supporters in less than 24 hours! That’s awesome! Unfortunately, I’ve yet to hear anything from anyone in any kind of position of power at the city. If we want to be heard we need to be louder! Please, take a moment to e-mail the entire city council as well as Mayor Banman informing them of this petition and how important it is. I have linked the address to send a group e-mail to all of them. Keep sharing!

05/21/14 09:01 – Safari Kids Zone, which was limited to birthdays only in Rotary Park, has started an online petition about news it will be closed out of Rotary Park permanently effective June 30.

The petition can be found online and the owners hope to get enough signatures to sway the decision of the City of Abbotsford.

The company’s website describes it as, “an Indoor Playground facility that offers events, birthday parties and facility rentals. Safari Kids Zone was created with the City of Abbotsford vision that recreation for all should be affordable, safe, healthy, green and inclusive.

“As a boutique sized gathering place for family and friends we are proud to be the City of Abbotsford’s first indoor playground. We have the most superior cleaning, pricing and products in our industry.”

The Petition Reads:

Parents (and their children!) in Abbotsford were extremely disappointed when Safari Kids Zone at Rotary Park closed it’s doors to anything other than birthdays. Now we’ve learned that the city, WITHOUT public consultation, has decided to close it permanently as of June 30, 2014. Safari Kids Zone is arguably the cleanest and safest kids play place in the area, and our children deserve to be able to enjoy this type of facility. Please, don’t take away Safari Kids Zone from our community.
