Vegas Success For Canadian Sevens

From Abbotsford Rugby. Douglas Canada Vegas 2014The USA Sevens just finished this past weekend in Las Vegas and it was an amazing weekend for Canada and the ARFC. Bateman grad Justin Douglas and the Canadian Sevens team finished 3rd with two thrilling comeback victories over France and Samoa to claim their best finish ever at a World Series tournament. Many other Abbotsford players were in action for various teams.

Spencer Miller (Yale grad) and the UBC Thunderbird sevens team traveled to the tournament for the first time and took home gold in the College division. Miller scored a try in the final game in front of a packed stadium of fans to help secure the win for the TBirds. Click the picture for more details.

The BC U-18 Women had four ARFC club players on the team that helped them secure gold in the Girls High School division. Sophia Belsher (Bateman), Lauren Kerr (Bateman), Nakisa Levale (Abby Sr.), and Chantal MacLean (Clayton Heights) all travelled to Vegas for the tourney. .The BC Banshees also brought women’s team to the tournament. Morgan Walker (Bateman) played for this group of talented ladies.
