Witnesses And Information Sought For Hit And Run
27/07/13 19:25 – This morning just before 1:00 am the Abbotsford Police Department was called to a pedestrian struck at the intersection of George Ferguson Way and Gladwin Road. Upon arrival, APD Patrol Division officers located a 17 year old girl who had been run over by a vehicle that fled immediately after the collision.

Prior to the collision, three teenaged friends were seated at a bus stop bench when a white pick-up truck with silver rims approached their position eastbound on George Ferguson Way. The pick-up truck slowed and one or both of the Caucasian occupants began throwing eggs at the group. The 17 year old walked toward the truck to determine why the driver and passenger were doing this. The girl was run over when the truck accelerated. The vehicle continued despite the impact and injury to the victim.

The girl was transported to hospital and received treatment for fractures to both legs. Several witnesses from neighbouring residences were interviewed and the APD have begun gathering forensic and video evidence.

APD investigators are appealing to anyone with information about this incident to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text the APD at 222973 (abbypd) or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
