Yale Students Plan BBQ For Homeless And Run For Mathew’s House

Submitted. A group of Yale Secondary grade 10 leadership students will hold a BBQ in Jubilee Park to feed the less fortunate who live in the area. The BBQ in Jubilee Park is planned for Friday, Oct 25, from 2:30 to 4:30pm.

The students have planned the event on their own including getting food donated and booking the park with the city. They will be on hand to cook and serve at the BBQ. Parents are also assisting.

Run/Walk for Rest in support of Matthew’s House

On Saturday, Oct 26, another group of Yale Secondary grade 10 leadership students have organized a run called Run for Rest at Mill Lake. It is a 5km run/walk at Mill Lake in central Abbotsford, with all proceeds going to Matthew’s House. Approximately 100 participants already signed up. The students have obtained donations and organized t-shirts and ribbons for the runners. A number of parents involved in this event as well.
