Yale Students Raise Almost $16,000

From Yale Secondary. Approximately 300 students from Yale Secondary participated in their third annual global initiative fundraiser, Live to Give 2014, over the weekend and raised almost $16,000.

Leadership students, who put on the event, decided to support health care in India – including medical supplies, clinics and training – in the province of Rajasthan through the organization Free the Children.

They then asked the student body, by way of an assembly, to help with the initiative.

More than 300 students answered this call for help by raising a minimum $50 each to gain entry to an overnight event at the school, which started Friday night and ended at 5 a.m. Saturday.

Activities throughout the night included laser tag, giant human spheres, and several theme rooms that included a man cave, girls’ room, camping room, zen room, a snack room, a photo booth and an information room about the India health-care initiative.
