Yale Students Relay for Hope

From Soraya Rajabally. Yale students support their local community yet again with their Relay for Hope this past Saturday. Seven girls with a vision, set out to fundraise money for the Abbotsford Community Services Meals on Wheels Program. Meals on Wheels delivers meals to senior citizens in need.

As part of an assignment for their senior leadership class, they were given the task of fundraising for their community. Initially, their teacher was skeptical because of the logistics involved with a 90km bike ride from Hope to Abbotsford, but the girls persevered and fulfilled their vision and fundraised just under $1000 for the cause.

It was supposed to be a relay but they all wanted to do the full distance and with tremendous parent support, they did it. It just goes to show that when there is a vision and a lot of hard work, anything is possible!
