Yale U-16 Hockey Team An Early Success

The Yale Sport Academy’s Boys’ U-16 Hockey program has now had a year to establish itself, with great success both on and off the ice, the Abbotsford School Board heard in a presentation by Academy Director Billy Wilms.

The team is part of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL), with 8 teams in the Elite 15’s Division (U-16), from BC, Alberta and Idaho.

Mr. Wilms noted there are three priorities for the team’s athletes: athletics, academics and character development; and while they have had great success on- ice, there has been terrific response off the ice from players and parents.

Players are also involved in community initiatives.

Overall, the Yale/WA Fraser Academy, offering hockey, softball and baseball, has 240 students enrolled.
