Representatives of the district’s Youth Council (‘YC34’) provided the Board an overview of their work and initiatives this year.
YC34 is a group of student representatives from across district secondary schools (up to three per school) that meet on a regular basis to provide feedback to district leadership and trustees, and involve students in the variety of decisions made by educational leaders.
These students meet with trustees and members of the school district’s senior management team five times each year.
Topics discussed include student engagement, technology in schools and ways to improve the learning opportunities and experiences of all students.
