As reported here before, the YMCA’s proposal to have the taxpayers of Abbotsford give them $17.5 million in order build a membership-based business in a proposed housing development on the old MSA hospital grounds has run into some heavy criticism.
In February , opponents to the giveaway bought an ad in one of the chain-owned newspapers urging people to support their cause and have council say ‘No’ to the proposal.
The ad was signed by a number of prominent Abbostford residents and asks those who support them to visit their website at: http://www.saynototheymcagift.com/ .
Walter Neufeld is known for his advocacy work as president of the FVRD Citizens Association and his work against the gravel industry lobby. Neufeld’s newest passion is a group called ‘Men on Roofs’.
The full name of the group is ‘Men on Roofs ask Canadian politicians to stop filching our democracy’ and they are sponsoring a series of politically charged images aimed at Canadian politicians.
